    Weigh In Day

What a great day.  Donnie and I weighed in today, and reached another milestone.  Donnie is down 20.6 lbs and I am down 18 lbs.  This is a total weightloss of 38.6 lbs, 6.7%.  I am just so amazed that it has been so good.  I guess when you are determined to do something, it really does help to have the support.  We are looking forward to a wonderful healthy rest of our lives.  Keep on moving up that hill.

    A New Day

I have to say that yesterday has been a motivator for me and my husband in our journey.  I took the day off to recoop from traveling with work and decided to go clothes shopping.  As I started my day, I went to my favorite store, Lane Bryant.  I always seem to check out the manequins to get some good ideas about outfits.  So I found one that I really like and decided, if it was meant to be, I would only have to try on one size.  The past few times I have been in there, I have been in a 20W or 22W.  I decided I would only take an 18 of the shirt, jacket and pants.  I almost cried when I tried the pants on first and they fit perfectly and I even had room in the back, which seems to never happen.  So, I figured, let's see if this shirt fits, and praise God it did, as did the jacket.  I haven't been in a size 18 in almost 5 years.  I couldn't believe it.  I was just amazed.  When I got home and tried the outfit on for my husband to see, He said, "You look hot!"  So he decided to try on a pair of jeans that he bought earlier, but never had even worn.  They were a 42, and he was wearing a 46 when we started.  They fit, a little tight, but I wasn't complaining.  He was amazed too.  It has given us the motivation to keep focused on what we want.  A New Healthier Body.  We are striving for the top of our Mountain, and look forward to being the King and Queen of the Mountain.

    The Journey continues....

And it is shaping up to be a great journey.  Donnie weighed in this morning and lost another 3.8 lbs.  After a loss last week of only .8 lbs, we focused on being sure that he ate the required number of points with Weight Watchers.  And the results were wonderful.  He has lost 5.2% over the journey, for a total of 17.2 lbs.  He is so ready to continue that it makes it that much easier for me.  I only lost .6lbs this week, but in the long run, I have lost a total of 11.2 lbs.  This is a whopping 4.5%.  I am so excited, only 61.8 lbs left for me, and 93.8 lbs left for Donnie.  We are planning on increasing our exercise this week, to motivate our metabolism.  That is the one thing we have not been doing on a regular basis.  We are doing great, and continue to press forward to the top of the Mountain.

    Dr. Appt

Today, I had a dr. appt, that I was kind of dreading.  As we all in this weight game, dread the scary scale.  But I was pleasantly surprised.  I have actually lost 13 lbs since my last appt.  That really made my dr. happy, as well as myself.  Tomorrow is the weigh in day, and I can't wait.  Donnie and I are pushing forward in a wonderful adventure of life.

    Catch Up

I am sorry, we haven't posted in a few days, but I have been traveling for work and didn't get the chance.  Donnie has lost a total 12.6lbs, and I am still at 7.4.  I wasn't able to weigh in last week, but am looking forward to my Friday weigh in.  I will post results on Friday.

    After Vacation

Donnie and I are glad to be off of vacation and back to normal.  We were very concious of what we ate.  We tried to share as many meals as possible, since most restaurants give you way too much food for one person.  This was a great opportunity to enforce portion control.  I look forward to our weigh in this Friday morning.

    About Us

Donnie (my husband) and I have been happily married for almost 12 years now.  We met when I was going to NC State University in 1992 and have been in love ever since.  We have been struggling with weight ever since we can remember.  We have been struggling with infertility and feel that most of that comes from stress and obesity.  With this weight loss, we pray that our bodies with rebound and we will be able to have the children that we so desperately long for.
We are entering this contest to change our lives and our health.  Donnie and I both have a competitive nature and this contest gives us the motivation we need.  We are combining the Weight Watchers program with an exercise routine to lose the weight correctly.  We know that it will be an uphill battle, but we plan to be the King & Queen of the Hill.
The reason that we feel that our team should win this contest, is because we have so much to offer each other and the world.  Our team should win this contest because we want to motivate others.  We have so much love to give, that we want to share it.  Donnie and I have been planning on fostering/adopting children in the coming year, but we want to be sure that we are there for them.  We want to be the example that they need and want to give them all the love they deserve.

    Beginning our Journey

Donnie and I have decided that we need to begin our lives again.  This time we are going to do it better.  We have let our bodies get away from us and we plan on taking them back.  I have a goal weight of 175 lbs (a loss of 75 lbs., currently 248) and Donnie has a goal weight of 220 lbs. (a loss of 111 lbs., currently 331).  We have a combined current weight of 579 and have a goal weight loss of 186 lbs.
